Sport is often the pulse of local communities and how better to get to know the locals.
The Launceston based basketball team, the Tornadoes is going from strength to strength and their success and that of the other Tassie team, the Jack-Jumpers, is being credited for the burgeoning popularity of the sport in Tasmania. They are drawing strong crowds and a large online following.
Uniting AgeWell’s sponsorship of the Tornadoes provides us with a forum for locals to get to know who we are and what we do.
Director Marketing and Communications, Natalie Dillon believes creating partnerships with local sporting clubs is the best way to meet the community on their turf.
“We think it’s important for fans, families and players to get to know about aged care services in their area. Should they need support for themselves, a family member or grandparents, they will be familiar with who we are and know we’re part of the local community too.”
The soccer club, Devonport Strikers is another great place to get to know people in the area. As proud Devonport City Strikers Football Club partners and with a ground capacity of 1,250, the Uniting AgeWell brand will be front and centre.
Both partnerships provide advertising opportunities on the ground, attendance at the games by clients and players will also visit Uniting AgeWell residences in the area.
“This is also a great way to connect our residents and clients with their local sporting stars and creates a great intergenerational experience for both.”
