Learning opportunities

Developing leadership in all its forms is a key focus for Uniting AgeWell.

You will have read stories about programs run over the past couple of years including:

  • Strategic Leaders

  • Operational and Emerging Leaders

  • Frontline Leaders

And now a new program is being added to the mix.  In March, a new self-leadership program 'Unlocking the Leader in You' was piloted.  With 24 participants invited from sites and services across the organisation, the one-day program was facilitated by Emma McQueen was an opportunity to explore the fundamentals of leadership and included:

  • exploring individual leadership,

  • uncovering what drives each participant, and

  • clarifying who they are leading and why.

Further leadership training programs are being added to the suite over the coming months and you are invited to register your interest.

Please email your expression of interest to learning@unitingagewell.org including an endorsement from your manager/director to attend.

Nurse Development Program 2024

The Nurse Development Program 2024 is set to start with the first of a series of workshops commencing soon:

  • The Victorian program starts at Wesley Place on Monday 22 April

  • Hobart for Tasmania based nurses on Thursday 9 May.

The Nurse Development Program class of 2023 (see photo) gave very positive feedback about the program which was both informative and interesting in keeping nurses up to date in the rapidly changing landscape of nursing in aged care.  We look forward to seeing you all there!

For further information and workshop dates and to confirm your attendance email the Learning and Development team at learning@unitingagewell.org.
