Move Challenge starts Monday 12 August 2024

A new way to get moving and connect with colleagues across Uniting AgeWell.

In the lead up to RUOK? Day on 12 September and World Mental Health Day on 10 October, we are launching the 2024 Move Challenge for staff at Uniting AgeWell.

The Move Challenge aims to raise awareness of the importance of moving to keep ourselves healthy both physically and mentally.

You might remember the 15 Minute Challenge from 2023?

  • 307 active participants formed 55 teams to log 8,625 exercise days for 479,915 minutes of exercise

  • The big winner was the overall health and wellbeing of the participants with 84 per cent saying they saw an improvement in their overall health.

The 2024 Move Challenge is a simple and fun way to be mindful and be active.   Supportive and inclusive, it encourages you to:

  • Be active during the day

  • Meet new people by joining a team of colleagues you may not have met

  • Enjoy regular updates on where your team are tracking on the leader board!

The Move Challenge is supported by Uniting AgeWell’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider Converge. Using the Converge app you will be able to calculate your movement and add it to your team’s total.

All staff have access to the app which can be downloaded via your mobile phone.

Once you join via the app, you can choose to join a specific team or be allocated to a team  of colleagues that you may or may not know drawn from across Victoria and Tasmania.  Together, your combined movement over 6 weeks will be calculated and the winning team will be announced just after RUOK? Day.

All movement will be converted to steps. Even if you’re not walking regularly, other activities are included in your team results! Whether you ride a horse, a bike, do yoga or sail a boat, the app will convert your movement to steps which make up your team results.

Note that individual results from the app are confidential.

There are great prizes to be won and the winners will be announced after RUOK Day 2024.
