Competition, as usual, was fierce amongst all the sites, and the judges were hard-pressed to find the top two.
This time around the competition was different in that the platters comprised both sweet and savoury delicacies, and the winner and runner-up were chosen from all the sites across Victoria and Tasmania.
Chefs Chitesh Raulkar and Will Friend and the food services team at AKC Community were delighted with the trophy, which will be proudly on display at the site for 2024.
Queenborough Rise chef, Jesse Judd and his team were also thrilled to be awarded a certificate which will be framed and hung on the wall. Well done to all!
One of the judges, Hotel Services Manager (Victoria) Janette Anderson says the two winning platters featured products hand made at the site, with beautiful decorations and just the right balance of sweet and savoury foods.
Another judge, Hotel Services Manager (Tasmania) Craig Gleeson says it was evident at first glance to see the amount of love and thought that had gone into preparing the platters.
The real winners, of course, are the residents and their families who enjoyed these beautiful home-made festive platters – and the staff who took great pride and joy in creating them.
